New Year, New Biz
Here at The Montclair Girl, we’re looking forward into the New Year and ready to say goodbye to 2025 (no offense). Focusing on the future, the Montclair area has plenty of new businesses scheduled to open in 2026. As we eagerly anticipate the opening of some our potential new favorites, we put together a guide with all of the details available for each opening. Read on for a list of business coming to the Montclair and Essex County area in 2026.

Alpha Fit Club | 55 Union Street, Newark
Alpha Fit Club is a boutique fitness studio coming soon to Newark. The studio is a circuit-style training studio with high-intensity cardio and strength training. The fitness studio already has one location in Verona, and will soon be joining the community in Newark. The Union Street location will open January 5th, 2026.

Belleville Food Truck Park | Washington Avenue, Belleville
A new food truck park is coming to Belleville in 2026. The park will have rotating vendors and the township has reportedly already started to receive applications. No specific vendors have been officially named yet, while the Mayor did share that Cesar Valdivia’s Lomo Peruvian Food Truck one vendor the park would “love to have here.” The opening is currently expected to take place in the Spring of 2026, with no exact date yet.
Campofiore | 664 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair
Campofiore is the latest venture from Stout NYC Hospitality Group which also operates Allegory and Splendid Rooftop which are inside the MC Hotel. Campofiore will be a farm-to-table Italian restaurant led by Chef Dan Drohan in the 664 Bloomfield space which was formerly Thai Chef. While there is no known grand opening date yet, the restaurant has been active on social media in recent weeks posting dishes that will appear on the menu.
Farmhouse Fried Chicken | 223 Bellevue Avenue, Montclair
In the space that was previously occupied by DaVinci’s pizzeria for more than 25 years until its closure, the team behind Dan & Day’s will open Farmhouse Fried Chicken in the New Year. The owners previously shared with The Montclair Girl that the space will be an elevated fried chicken concept, focusing on sandwiches with additional “bone-in” options. Opening is planned to take place in April of 2026.
Pilates Addiction | 638 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair
Pilates Addiction will be the next new fitness studio to join the Montclair community. The pilates studio began in California and will soon make its way to the East Coast with an opening set for March 2026. The studio offers reformer pilates classes in a range of skill levels.
Pig & Butter | TBA
Pig & Butter is a new restaurant making its way across the Hudson after closing its NYC location. The restaurant is known for its all-day brunch, craft cocktails, and small bites. Restaurant owner Sherry Grimes is a classically trained French chef and former Neuroscientist, while her partner studied Exposure Science at MIT. The couple’s backgrounds in science, in addition to Sherry’s culinary training, are behind the concoctions listed on the craft cocktails menu.
South Orange Performing Arts Center Movie Theater | 1 SOPAC Way, South Orange
The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) has announced that the theater operator Box Office Cinemas will reopen the movie theater in January 2026. The return of film to the center is set to open on or before January 16th, 2026 according to a statement from James Kula, the President of Box Office Cinemas.
