Nokian Tyres has produced its one millionth tire of 2025 at its zero-emissions factory in Oradea, Romania

Nokian Tyres has produced its one millionth tyre of 2025 at its factory in Oradea, Romania, reaching the annual production target on 20 December. The facility, which was inaugurated in September 2024 and began deliveries in March this year, focuses on manufacturing passenger car tyres for the European market and is the world’s first full-scale zero-CO2-emissions tyre factory.

The millionth tyre produced was a Nokian Tyres Snowproof 2 winter tyre. The company also launched two new products for the European market this year: the Seasonproof 2 all-season tyre and the Powerproof 2 summer tyre.

In a statement, Paolo Pompei, President and Chief Executive of Nokian Tyres, said: “I am very proud of our entire team for their hard work in reaching this milestone. It is a strong testament to our commitment to customers across Europe, enhancing our service level and delivering innovative products that ensure safety and comfort for drivers in all conditions.”

When fully completed by approximately the end of 2027, the Romania facility will become Nokian Tyres’ largest production site, representing around 40% of total capacity. It is the company’s third factory alongside sites in Nokia, Finland and Dayton, US, and employs more than 500 people.
