Hello, Czech brothers!

I have a hobby that consists of me making soups from around the world, and recording it. For the 20th soup, I made Cesnecka and was blown away by it. Definitely top 5, if not top 3 soups so far.

My question is, do you eat this soup often?
Did I make it right, the traditional way? If not, what should I change next time I make it, because i defenetly will.

Thanks so much, im looking forward to hearing any suggestions and critiques.

  1. For the first time pretty good!

    Diferences in my approach:

I cook the potatoes separately to avoid stratchy soup and add them later.

As base instead of potatoes I use one onion.

Usually swirl the eggs much faster so the eggs are more “stringy”.

For the serving a smash one more clove of garlic to the bowl before pouring the soup for extra kick.

Before the croutons you can sprinkle a bit of shredded cheese – no need for something fancy.

It’s mostly used as hangover cure and helper to combat flu.

Enjoy next time! And try Zelňačka if you haven’t yet 🙂

  2. I am a mere consumer but I believe you did. Moreover, I love česnečka dearly – especially after a night out 😀 unlike my wife, she hates it as she does tripe soup unfortunately.
I think people’ve avoiding these strong smelling ingredients(onions, garlic, kidneys,…) lately.
