The 37th and the 38th meeting of the season, which included 21 races all for trotters were held during the weekend at the Marsa Racetrack.

These programmes included five finals for French trotters on a long distance of 2640m. The main event, the Prix De Vincennes final for class Premier trotters, was won by favourite Gaspar D’Angis, driven by Charles Camilleri.

Eleven trotters lined up for the class Premier final. As expected, Gaspar D’Angis (Charles Camilleri) was the fastest horse after the official start of the race and immediately opened a small lead from Eden de L’Iton (Dylan Baldacchino) and Farmer Keryvon (Rodney Gatt).

Gaspar D’Angis led all the way during the 2640m distance and sealed its third win in a row and in Malta after sustaining the challenge of Farmer Keryvon in the final metres.

Eldorado De Ver (Noel Baldacchino) ended third from Galago Du Gadran (Paul Galea) and Forban (Cherise Farrugia).

At the end of this final, Anthony Mifsud, Malta Racing Club chairman, and Matthew Brincat, Chief Executive of Malta Equidrome, presented the winning trophies to Stephen Ciangura, Matthew Fenech and Charles Camilleri, the owners and driver respectively of the winning horse.

Gaspar d’Angis managed to register again the national record of 1.12.8” per kilometer, the same time he clocked in the semi-final stages.
