*The number of births has continued to decrease in Austria
*2024 only 77,238 births
*The age of mothers at the birth of their first child is historically high at 30.4 years. The lowest since statistics began was 22.8 in 1973.
Fertility rate decreased. Was 1.44 in 2023, fell to 1.31 in the previous year.
*The proportion of women who only have their first child after 40 is 3.6 percent. at the beginning of the millennium 0.8
*Teenage mother almost disappeared. for those under 18, only 0.4 percent
*Family structure is changing. The trend is for DINK couples, i.e. people of reproductive age in a couple relationship without children. *38.6 percent of all households in Austria are single-person households.
