Well I for one say well done, but as I haven’t read the article does it mean fully funded or fully funded along with income from our commercial partners including Land Rover, The Dubai Development Fund, Tiktok, ACME Munitions, etc

I don’t think there’s many other post colonial countries where the main paper-of-record was left behind by the coloniser.

Journalism is a stretch, their vendetta against SF is so blatant. Coming from someone who has lots of issues with SF.
More broadly, their lack of blockbuster reporting on issues like 2008, the housing scandal, and the state of public services like healthcare and even driving test centres.
The Irish Times is more entertainment than journalism at this point. A total waste of time for anyone who wants to know what’s really happening.

I pretty much only pay for the podcast, but that’s been dropping in quality lately.

Perhaps it’s more like I would be on the fence about whether to pay or not, but he has the occasional insightful idea or article, well put, that I do not want to miss. Not all his columns are like that, but a few are. And I want to support the institution.

Supporting independent journalism is one of the few things regular folks can do in these times to push back. It’s not perfect – no. But I’d rather have it than not.

If that is the case, then why is there this pay-blockage all the time?
