  1. I think OP has misunderstood the purpose of this community … This is not a map but a satellite image. It is really nothing amazing about it. I live in Tamsui district of Taipei …. Just South of live firing exercise location. With exception of few Apaches and one Chinook flying overhead, nothing out of ordinary. They do these drills quite often. Maybe post in in r/Taiwan.

Can we keep politics out of this sub? Or has that ship sailed? We all know why you post this here.

    Dopamine.

  3. Note how they also sneak into territorial waters in multiple places, probably not for the first time. These sort of exercises normalise the idea that China gets to intrude on Taiwans water or airspace and they normalise Chinese forces surrounding the island regularly

    “Taiwan province”, “Occupied by Japan”????
Go back to your handler and report that the half assed propaganda attempt failed…

China really loves these ironic titles don’t they? Like “the peoples republic of China” and calling military threats “justice mission”.

  6. Combine Taïwan province no longer existing as a demarcation, the Ryukyu islands not being an occupied territory but a normal part of Japan, and the senkaku island also being under Japanese control for over a century, and you get a 99% chance OP is a propaganda troll

I once had a Chinese person in my home. Does that also mean China has the rights to ownership of my home?

Its a much more difficult feat than taking Ukraine was to be. To take Taiwan would destroy the PRC

It’s wild how these drills are presented as this huge event, but for people actually living there, it’s just another Tuesday. The disconnect between the official narrative and the on-the-ground reality is pretty stark. I guess the real story is how normalized these military postures have become. Thanks for the local perspective from Taipei.

  10. I really feel sorry for people in Taiwan, some authoritarian idiots instead of focusing of prosperity of their country think they can play with war threads…
