While most of us have lost track of what day of the week it is in the days between Christmas and New Years, Jessica O’Mahony has been busy travelling to visit family who live abroad.
The wife of former Irish rugby player Peter O’Mahony has taken a nostalgic trip back to visit her roots in Belgium to visit her grandmother over the festive season – but not without a fancy stop in the capital first!
Jessica, 38, who is half-Belgian on her mother’s side, documented her time in Brussels as she soaked up the Christmas lights, ate oysters, and drank Champagne.

The mum-of-three, who brought her nine-year-old daughter Indie on the trip, later travelled out to visit her Belgian grandmother, who she calls her bonne maman, in the home where her mother grew up.

Jessica and her family were in a nostalgic mood, and her grandmother took out the family photo albums as they reminisced about old times.

Her 92-year-old grandmother took out her wedding album, showing her granddaughter and great-granddaughter pictures of her as a bride, with Jess writing: ‘Looking [at] her old wedding pics.’

She then shared a sweet throwback snap to her as a young girl on the beach, writing: ‘& there’s me,’ with the crying-laughing emoji.

In a 2024 interview, the fashionable influencer told The Times that her Belgian grandmother has always been her style icon since she was a little girl.

Jessica said: ‘She’s 91, she still has her pink lipstick, pink nails and high heels. She doesn’t even own a pair of flats, would you believe? She makes such an effort all the time. I always admired that from such a young age.’
And with her grandmother kitted out in a pink woolen jumper and pink silk scarf for their visit, it’s easy to see where Jessica gets her effortless style from!
