Turkish Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu has said that it is important to reach an agreement with Azerbaijan first in order for his country to take steps forward with Armenia, APA‘s bureau in Türkiye reports.

Uraloglu, noting that negotiations are currently underway, also stressed that Armenia is not opposed to the Zangezur corridor:

“I have spoken with the previous and current transport ministers of Armenia. They have no intention of opposing the Zangezur corridor. Meetings are being held with Azerbaijan and Trump is also closely following the process.

Azerbaijan and Armenia should first sit down and reach an agreement. Then, as Turkey, we can take further steps with Armenia within the framework of good neighborly relations. But for us, our president’s approach is also in this direction.

We know that Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan really takes serious responsibilities for progress at this point. Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs is conducting the entire process and we are working in coordination with them,” the minister noted.
