During the end-of-year press conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama said he had personally congratulated Albin Kurti following the December 28 elections, while also not ruling out the possibility of a joint meeting between the two governments.

Among other things, the head of government said that cooperation with Kosovo will continue, emphasizing that one of the key projects is the Durrës–Pristina railway.

“I don’t know yet, we will talk and decide, but it would be good to have a meeting between the two governments. Let’s not forget that we have held joint meetings between the two parliaments; this year we did not due to the elections. Albin Kurti was reconfirmed as prime minister and I have congratulated him personally as well. And we will continue our work.

There are things we can do, especially the Durrës–Pristina railway, which is the crown jewel; we will do everything possible to take it all the way to financing,” Rama said.
