The cross with 3 lines is the symbol of Russian Orthodoxy. https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cruce_ortodox%C4%83_rus%C4%83 The Romanian Orthodox Church uses the simpler cross, like the Greek one.

And so it was worth it: Mircea Snegur is the father of Moldova’s independence FROM ROMANIA, NOT FROM RUSSIA.

Afterin 1991-1992, Romania promoted the interests of Moldova and sent weapons, money and volunteers to help Moldova in the fight against the Transnistrian separatists, Snegur said that it is best to be the slaves of those who occupied his country: the Russians. So he took the Popular Front (the main pro-Romanian, anti-Soviet and reformist force) out of government and brought in the Agrarian Democratic Party (aggressively Moldovanist and very pro-Russian).

During Snegur’s presidency and the PDAM government, all of Moldova’s strategic assets were ceded to Russian oligarchs. All the big business was done by Russian oligarchs and former KGB-ists. Moldova has become a political and economic vassal of Russia. All Snegur did as president was to break ties with Romania and deepen Moldova’s dependence on Russia. Yes, it tempered some aggressive anti-Romanian instincts of PDAM (especially after PSM also entered the government – https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partidul_Socialist_din_Moldova and MEU – https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mi%C8%99carea_Unitate-Edinstvo ), but mainly vassalized Moldova to Russia.

Including in the ecclesiastical field, the Moldovan state, at the explicit direction of Snegur, blocked the recognition of the Romanian Orthodox Church and supported the Russian Orthodox Church – so that’s why I say, the funeral was what was needed.

And Snegur also brought businessmen Boris Birstein to Moldova (https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris\_Bir%C8%99tein) and Miron Åžor (father of Ilan Åžor).

And no, I don’t want to hear that "Weiner" – all those who said that Snegur wanted unification but Iliescu opposed it are people who were then part of Snegur’s entourage and who are trying to wash his image. All the activity before 1991, but also after 1991, shows that Snegur felt more connected to the Russian world than to the Romanian one. It is very stupid the idea that Snegur wanted to cede all his power to Iliescu, and the political animal Iliescu, who sought more power all his life, opposed it. lol It’s stupid. And Snegur’s post-1992 activity shows us that he was greedy for power.

Snegur’s people from that time are now at PAS (Igor BoÈ›an, Mihai Druță, etc.). So that’s why PAS is trying to rehabilitate Snegur. His luck is that even more pro-Russian people came after him, such as Lucinschi, Voronin and, above all, Dodon, but, overall, the love for Russia was constant among the Moldovan presidents – because the statehood of Moldova cannot be pro-Romanian, but, instead, it can be pro-Russian.
