Iv seen at the mind boggling low price of ten pound a gram got knows how cheap it is in bulk

So I guess they start charging? Good luck anyone needing urology for known ketamine use.

It is horrifically cheap and leaves your system quickly, which is why people start using it. People are just ignorant as to how addictive it is and the damage is can reap on your bladder. Hearing about heavy addicts pissing out the lining of their bladder should be enough to turn anyone off the stuff.

I dont understand why people on Ketamine dont understand how unpleasent they are to be around. Its like taking a toddler out to the motorway. So many people I just gave up on being friends with. Same thing with people that drink on benzos.

Cannabis use down 15% over the last ten years? With the amount of online whinging about the prevalent smell of the stuff, you’d think usage was through the roof!

Spent a fair bit of time in hospital this year and there was a guy on the general medical ward I eventually got moved to before discharge who was in there with serious bladder issues from ketamine use. He disappeared for a couple of hours one day and came back eventually doing that unmistakable ket walk. Still wearing his hospital pyjamas. Ket is nasty stuff. I also know a guy who’s partner is so far in to key use he has real problems too.

Had two young lads on my ward with ketamine addictions. Both with no control of their bladders, swimming in piss. One of them refused catheter because he was embarrassed etc, I think one of them has already passed away, horrible drug.

I can really see why. It’s currently £7-8 a pint in london and £10-15 from a gram of k. A gram can last you most of an evening depending on your usage but a pint definitely won’t.
Wouldn’t be surprised if other substances such as GHB/GBL see a big spike in usage.

My friend has done their fair share of drugs. My friend tried ketamine once. My friend would not do ketamine again. My friend tells me that it’s horribly disorientating stuff.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Urology clinics and wards this year unfortunately to the point where I know some of the staff pretty well. Will ask what they think about it.
From what I’ve seen I’ve usually been the youngest person in there by a mile. Most of the people in there are what you’d expect, older people with massive prostates, bladder and kindey stones, UTIs gone bad etc
The articles basically saying for Barnsley its gone up from 1 a month to about 5 a month or so which is a really worrying percentage increase and if it kept going like that then it would become overwhelming but by the way its being talked about it’s painting a picture that they are inundated with them.
Having had a lot of the same symptoms as the ket bladder people though I’d absolutely echo the messaging of it not being worth it. Passing your own bladder lining is pretty rough. It sort of sloughs off and you can see the lumps or strips of it coming down your catheter tube. If you’ve not got a catheter it’s even more grim.
Edit: Also I’m kind of sensitive, maybe wrongly to this discourse around this getting to the point where anytime you see a younger person with bladder issues you instantly assume it’s through ket abuse. There are lots of issues that can still get you at any age, neurological ones, spinal cord injuries, infections gone bad, cancer etc. I’m pretty open talking about it from a disability point of view but it’s always a bit insulting if you get the “sure you didn’t do loads of ket” type questioning.

Ketamine is fun when used occasionally. The same as LSD, MDMA, nitrous and the rest.
It blows my mind how uneducated people are about drugs. All the harm prevention material is out there, but people refuse to listen.
We’ve had a friend who hid a Ketamine dependency from us for a year or so. She was boshing through grams of it a week.
I suspect the issue will continue to get worse, the government will step in, it’ll be pushed up to a class A drug, and nothing will really change.
Eventually, it’ll get stigmatised socially and people will find another way to kill themselves.
Addicts are gonna addict. We need to be looking at the underlying mental health issues.
