“Is it normal that there is no place for Novak Djokovic in Serbia? Is this normal if we are talking about life in a normal society?”

This was the question posed by former Minister of Education and long-time member of the Socialist Party of Serbia Branko Ruzic, as reported by BGNES.

According to Ruzic, declaring “Djokovic unwanted in his homeland” is totally abnormal. Ruzic commented on the Djokovic case in connection with the change in Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic’s attitude towards the best tennis player in Serbian history.

He also spoke about the responsibility of the Socialist Party of Serbia, of which he is a long-time member and former minister. “Are we accomplices in this (referring to the SPS, ed.)? Of course, someone will surely say ‘yes’. I am not an accomplice, personally I am not and never will be. The question is to understand how responsible you are to society and the state,” Ruzic emphasized.

Over the past year and a half, Branko Ruzic has often criticized the current government, saying that students are standing up for the right thing and criticizing the way the government treats them. I BGNES
