In Serbia, today, 31 December, ahead of the New Year holidays, as well as before the Christmas holidays, the working hours of shops, shopping centres and post offices will be reduced, and some facilities will not be open on 1 and 7 January 2026. 

Duty retail outlets of non-specialised trade formats, mainly selling food (hypermarkets, supermarkets, superettes and mini-markets), must operate tomorrow for at least the period from 9.00 to 18.00, the Secretariat for the Economy announced, as reported by Beoinfo. 

On Thursday, 1 January, and on Christmas Day, 7 January, retail outlets will be closed, while on Friday, 2 January, retail outlets will be open from 9.00 to 12.00. 

On Christmas Eve, 6 January, retail outlets will be open from 9.00 to 18.00. 

Petrol stations on state roads of I and II categories and on municipal roads in the territory of Belgrade operate 24 hours a day, while other petrol stations in the city must operate at least from 6.00 to 20.00. 

Post offices with full-day working hours will operate for shorter hours tomorrow, 31 December, until 17.00, while some post offices will be open on Thursday and Friday, 1 and 2 January 2026, and on Wednesday, 7 January, the public enterprise Post of Serbia announced. 

On all public holidays, the Main Post Office at 2 Takovska Street in Belgrade will be open from 7.00 to 21.30, as well as post offices at the border crossings Čukarka, Batrovci and Horgoš, and at the administrative crossings Jarinje and Brnjak, which will operate as usual, non-stop. 

The post office at the Gradina border crossing will operate from 7.00 to 18.30, while the post office at the Sremska Rača border crossing will operate from 16.00 to 24.00 on Thursday, 1 January, and Wednesday, 7 January, and from 0.00 to 24.00 on Friday, 2 January. 

On Friday, 2 January, 63 post offices will be open across the country, in Belgrade and in all larger cities and tourist centres. 

Outdoor markets will be open on 31 December, as usual from 6.00 to 19.00, while non-working days are Thursday, 1 January, and Christmas Day, 7 January 2026, according to the Beoinfo website. 

The markets Zemun, Banovo Brdo, Dušanovac and the Novi Beograd shopping centre will operate with reduced hours on 1 and 7 January, from 6.00 to 14.00, while on Friday, 2 January, all green markets will operate from 6.00 to 14.00. 

The public utility company Parking Service will not control or charge parking in zoned parts of the city on Thursday and Friday, 1 and 2 January 2026, as well as on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, 6 and 7 January 2026, when customer service counters at 31 Takovska Street, 51 Mileševska Street and 134g Milutin Milanković Boulevard will also be closed. 

All public garages, special car parks and the International Terminal complex will be continuously open during the holidays and will operate under the usual charging system, as will the Vehicle Operations Service. 

On Saturday, 3 January 2026, parking control and charging will resume in zoned parts of the city, as well as all Customer Service counters, according to regular working hours. 

Maxi shops will be open on 31 December, until 18.00, while Thursday, 1 January, is a non-working day. On Friday, 2 January, Maxi shops will operate regular working hours, while on Christmas Eve, 6 January, working hours will be until 18.00, and 7 January, Christmas Day, is a non-working day. 

Super Vero markets will be open on 31 December, until 18.00, while Thursday, 1 January 2026, is a non-working day. On Christmas Eve, 6 January 2026, the markets will operate until 17.00, while 7 January 2026 is a non-working day. 

Idea shops will be open on 31 December, until 18.00, while Thursday, 1 January, will be a non-working day. Duty shops in central Belgrade (Idea London and Idea Dorćol) will operate from 9.00 to midnight, while shops in Zlatibor and Kopaonik will operate from 9.00 to 22.00. 

On Friday, 2 January, shops will return to regular working hours. 

On Christmas Eve, 6 January, all Idea, Roda and Mercator shops will operate with reduced hours until 18.00, while Christmas Day, 7 January, is a non-working day.

 The Dexpress courier service will collect packages tomorrow, 31 December, until 13.00, and these will be delivered on 6 January 2026. 

Non-working days are 1, 2 and 7 January, while 5 and 6 January are working days, and packages collected on 6 January will be delivered on 9 January. 

The working hours of parcel shops from 31 December to 6 January 2026 will be from 9.00 to 17.00. 

Lidl shops will be open on 31 December until 18.00, while 1 January will be a non-working day for all retail outlets. From 2 to 5 January, regular working hours will apply. 

On Christmas Eve, 6 January, Lidl shops will operate with reduced hours until 18.00, and they will be closed on Christmas Day, 7 January. 

The working hours of Univerexport shops, customer service, post offices and exchange offices within the facilities, as well as the Univerexport online e-shops, will be modified. On 31 December, all retail outlets will be open until 18.00, except in Zlatibor and Vrnjačka Banja, where they will close at 20.00, while Univerexport online e-shops will operate until 17.00. 

Exchange offices within Univerexport shops will operate from 8.00 to 14.00 in Rumenka, Temerin and Futog, while in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kać and Zrenjanin they will operate from 8.00 to 17.00. 

Post offices within Univerexport shops will operate from 8.00 to 17.00 in Belgrade, from 7.00 to 17.00 in Novi Sad, from 7.30 to 14.00 in Futog, and from 8.00 to 14.00 in Temerin. 

Thursday, 1 January, is a non-working day for all retail outlets, post offices, exchange offices, customer service and Univerexport online e-shops, except for facilities in Zlatibor and Vrnjačka Banja, which will operate from 8.00 to 20.00. 

On Christmas Day, 7 January, retail outlets, post offices, exchange offices, customer service and Univerexport online e-shops will be closed.
