The wait is nearly over.
For the first time in 12 long years, NHLers will return to the Olympics.
And on Thursday, Canada finally unveiled their roster.
We learned of six players who were named to the preliminary roster back in June. Now, the team is complete with 19 other NHL players being named to the squad.
Here’s a look at the 25-man team that will represent Canada at the upcoming Olympics, based on potential line combinations.
Players with an asterisk (*) were previously named to the team.
Forwards
1. Connor McDavid*
2. Nathan MacKinnon*
3. Sidney Crosby*
4. Brayden Point*
5. Sam Reinhart*
6. Macklin Celebrini
7. Anthony Cirelli
8. Brandon Hagel
9. Bo Horvat
10. Brad Marchand
11. Mitch Marner
12. Mark Stone
13. Nick Suzuki
14. Tom Wilson
There was a lot of chatter about whether talented youngsters Macklin Celebrini and Connor Bedard would make Canada after hot starts to the season.
Celebrini escalated from in the mix to roster lock with an unbelievable start to the season. Among all Canadian NHLers in 2025-26, Celebrini is third with 60 points 39 games, behind only Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon.
Bedard was left off of the squad.
Aside from Celebrini, three new forwards made the team compared to the 4 Nations roster.
Nick Suzuki and Tom Wilson are new additions to the team. Suzuki 10th among all Canadian NHLers this season with 42 points in 38 games.
Wilson is a unicorn among NHLers, pairing an extremely physical brand of hockey with decent offensive production. He leads all Washington Capitals players this season with 29 goals and 37 points in 39 games.
Bo Horvat was arguably the most surprising addition to the roster. The former Vancouver Canucks captain has 21 goals in 35 games this season, tied for sixth-most this season among Canadian NHLers.
Sam Bennett, Travis Konecny and Seth Jarvis didn’t make the team after representing Canada at the 4 Nations.
Defence
1. Cale Makar*
2. Drew Doughty
3. Thomas Harley
4. Josh Morrissey
5. Colton Parayko
6. Travis Sanheim
7. Shea Theodore
8. Devon Toews
While there were some changes to the forward group, Canada elected to run back the exact same defence for the Olympics that they rostered for the 4 Nations.
That means talented rookie Matthew Schaefer and Edmonton Oilers defenceman Evan Bouchard were left off of the team.
Goaltenders
1. Jordan Binnington
2. Darcy Kuemper
3. Logan Thompson
It wasn’t a total goaltending overhaul for Canada, but two new players were added to the team who weren’t with Canada at the 4 Nations.
Jordan Binnington was named to the Olympic team despite enduring a rocky 2025-26 NHL season. However, he was solid for Canada at the 4 Nations, with his five-alarm overtime stop allowing Canada to win the tournament after McDavid’s overtime winner against the United States.
Darcy Kuemper, who was a Vezina nominee last season, made the team. So did Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson, who statistically deserved to make Canada’s roster for the 4 Nations as well.
Sam Montembeault and Adin Hill were unsurprisingly left off of the team after representing Canada back in February.
Canada’s first game will be played on Thursday, Feb 12, 10:30 a.m. ET against Czechia.
