Ireland is a beautiful country. The older I get the more I appreciate it and the less likely I feel I am to move away, but I’m also more cynical towards our cities. Definitely conflicted, but the physical country is amongst the best in the world.
Thank you for sharing!

I just want the native woodlands back instead of decimated rolling hillsides. Its hard to appreciate such landscapes when you know what it used to be, and what it could be with good policy.

It’s not my turn of phrase, but I’ve often loved to call Ireland a really “human sized country”; small but not so titchy it feels parochial, and not so large it loses a closeness or sense of community.
It’s fairly decent alright but a portion of the country want it all to themselves, they want all the best houses all the best holiday homes and they price ordinary good Irish people out of really living in their own country

Are these your own shots? They’re fantastic. Whereabouts is it?

Do you have a website? I love the pictures. I’d love to buy prints if you have them!

No appreciated?? To we not have a whole flood of Tourists landing on this Island every year because we (or Bord Failte) sell the beauty of this Island to the whole world? I mean we’re not exactly some unknown little hidden Gem.

Absolutely lovely shots and love the editing. Those surfing shots from the back beach in Castlegregory?

I moved here from Arizona a little over 6 years ago and i still have so many moments when i’m just taken aback by the scenery (perhaps in part because im from a desert climate. Im not used to so much green!) or the fact I can just walk by a castle in town and think to myself i cant believe i get to live here. Sure its got its problems just like everywhere else, but it is my favourite place in the world

Yes, you’ve hit the nail on the head. One thing I’ll say is that the least scenic parts of Ireland are way better to look at than the least scenic parts of most other countries. When it comes to natural beauty, Ireland does not have any ugly bits.

Absolutely beautiful shots. Making me want to get back to photography. What kind of camera did you use here if you don’t mind me asking?

Ireland has gorgeous spots alright, but there are absolutely zero wild areas left, we have the lowest forest cover in Europe along with Malta, our biodiversity is almost non existent and the majority of the country is covered in ecologically dead farmland. Even our national parks are full of farmers sheep and sikta spucd plantations.
Not to rag on your post, I also agree we under appreciate it a bit, but we also need to call out the state of the place as well.

Ireland is beautiful but geographical largely uniform. Outside of a couple of sites there’s not the same incentive to travel internally as there is elsewhere. As long as you live on the coast.
