The President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, has extended her New Year 2026 greetings to citizens. In a video message, President Osmani emphasized that the year now coming to an end has shown that Kosovo moves forward when it acts with determination, values, and unity.
“The year we are leaving behind has demonstrated that Kosovo progresses when it acts with determination, values, and unity. It has been a year in which we further strengthened our country’s international position, protected the constitutional order and state interests, and continued our work to reinforce our alliances with our strategic partners. Kosovo has shown that it is present, heard, and respected at international tables, as a factor of peace, stability, and reliability,” Osmani said.
According to her, Kosovo remained steadfast against every destabilizing attempt, while domestically continuing to build a more just society, where human rights, equality, and dignity are the shared foundation.
She added that Kosovo has concluded a challenging year — not an easy one — but one in which its voice was heard clearly and its stance on the international stage was principled and unwavering. The year was particularly demanding due to delays in the formation of institutions, yet it also strengthened the country and prepared it to move forward with greater confidence and responsibility.
In her address, Osmani also stressed that the year ahead, 2026, “finds us with new responsibilities and clear goals.”
“Our goal remains a Kosovo that is even safer, more just, more integrated, and more developed. A Kosovo where the law is applied equally to all, where institutions are always in the service of citizens, and where every young woman and man has a perspective to build their future with dignity in their own country,” she said.
On this special night, President Osmani wished citizens health, peace, and prosperity.
“May 2026 be a year of cooperation, responsibility, and success for each of you and for the Republic. Let us begin the New Year with faith in ourselves, in one another, and in our Kosovo. Happy New Year 2026, with health and many moments of joy and celebration, for you and for the Republic of Kosovo,” she concluded.
