  1. Is there a price shown that I’m not noticing? Anyway bro it’s 1AM on January 1st, lots of people requesting a ride and not enough drivers… Maybe try again in a bit

  2. Fuck uber. I scheduled a ride with them days ago for last night. I didn’t want to have to compete with the availability of that time and wanted to have a taxi booked at that planned time, whatever they charge. But no driver turned up. No warning that no driver was booked or anything – quite the opposite – telling me the ride has been reserved and that if no driver is available I’ll get a notification.. But that didn’t happen.

Then I had to book at the time and waited for 20 minutes (5-7 min in the app) at the higher prices of course.

  3. They’ll take your money and never turn up. I had that happen with bolt once. €50!

You’re better off taking a night bus . Or just partying until 5am 😁

  4. From Valletta (packed with people and difficult to get in/out with traffic), at 1am on the new year, when there are several others ordering taxis. I’ll also add that it’s a public holiday at very “inhumane” hours, ordered at your leisure. Did you expect to get home with less than €10? It’s not unusual, and I wouldn’t say it’s absurd either to have to pay through the nose. For €150 I wouldn’t go into the clusterf**k that is Valletta on NY at that time, not to mention all the drunk drivers on the road. I’d say those prices are a bargain.

Next time, your best bet is to plan ahead and organise a van with a group of friends. You’ll know what you’re paying ahead of time and you’ll find the van waiting for you.
