Is anyone else surprised by this media panic being whipped up around a regular snowstorm? Have the media really lost their minds already?

It’s always like that.
Winter surprised drivers part#2137
Media fight for your attention. Whether it is politics or weather, the only way to get 3.5 seconds of your focus is to scream something scary at you. If you think there is more to it, let me know.
Tbh it was impossible to commute in the northeast and a bus crashed in my city. Took me 5 hours to get through a commute that takes 40 minutes.
Media tend to be overly dramatic to get attention and clicks. But also the climate got so mild that even mediocre snowstorm is quite unusual
If you’d be travelling today at the north/north east you’d understand. Airports are blocked, 2h trip takes 6 or 7, you can’t see shit so you move 20km/h
so no one can say anymore that drivers were unprepared
Welcome to the American Media Standard 😅
Has anyone actually read the article?
The days after Christmas there were 2 cms of solid ice on the ground in Łódź. People were slipping and falling all over the place, I’m sure the ERs were full of people with broken bones. My SIL said she’d never seen anything like this. I’m still wearing shoe spikes just in case.
well, one of the main expressway (S7) is being completely blocked for 5 hours now, if that’s not serious condition, I dunno what is
the media often plays up weather events for ratings, but it can make people more cautious and prepared, which isn’t all bad
Living in central Poland it’s easy to forget about snow being a thing
