Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker sent a message of support to Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, emphasizing that Montenegro has impressively proven in recent years that it is ready for an ambitious and successful process of accession to the European Union.
After attending the New Year’s Concert in Vienna together, Stocker wrote on behalf of X that Austria has for decades with full conviction supported the expansion of the EU to the Western Balkan countries, emphasizing that the security and stability of Europe begins precisely in the immediate vicinity of the Union.
“Together with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, I had the honor of attending the New Year’s Concert in Vienna today. For decades, Austria has been advocating, with full conviction, for the expansion of the European Union to the countries of the Western Balkans, because the security and stability of Europe begins in our neighborhood,” Stoker wrote on his Instagram account.
He pointed out that Montenegro has impressively proven in recent years that it represents an example of an ambitious and successful accession process.
“These courageous reforms deserve recognition from the European Union. The New Year’s Concert, conducted by Maestro Janik Neza-Segen, once again demonstrated that art and culture are a unifying force – both nationally and internationally,” said Stoker.
