Here we have another thing to add to the long list of reasons the world would be a better place if Meta didn't exist. Not only is Meta in league with the scammers, they've become scammers themselves, too.
The only part of the world that seems to have any teeth when it comes to regulating Big Tech is the EU, and even they aren't fully up to the job. Now that Big Tech isn't just supporting the scammers, but has turned into the scammers themselves, the rest of the world joining the EU's approach is long overdue.
Meta created ‘playbook’ to fend off pressure to crack down on scammers, documents show
The cost of unregulated Big Tech. New research shows that Meta not only refuses to remove scam ads, as it makes so much money from them, but it also tries to scam the regulators by hiding the ads from them.

If only we weren’t owned by the billionaires. Politicians around the world are in the pockets of the wealthy. Things won’t change
Don’t hate the player, hate the game. If Meta was not around anymore, another company would fill the niche of shady ad practices… Real change would only come about, if we would reform our economic system and how big data is integrated into it.
This may sound like a joke, but why can’t we have a single publicly owned global platform for social media. The same for a digital marketplace. You don’t need five Amazons, you need one marketplace that offers fair and transparent services to buyers and sellers.
Cold hard reality check – Meta has always been a scam. Most everything on the internet is designed to glean data from you and resell it to others who want to amplify the noise. In the early days of the internet it wasn’t quite as accurately targeted but it was still relentless – like the joke behind endless pop-up ads blocking out the entire browser – the same agenda is still what drives a vast majority of the internet because it’s the ad revenue that pays for everything.
Simple rule of thumb – if you’re not paying for it then you’re the commodity they’re selling to others.
The world would be so much better off if meta shuts down completely. The technology of a social network is fine, having it controlled by one guy trying to extract as much money as possible, ruins it. And as usual it is not the actual inventor who gets all the money but the business guy who scammed the inventor.
