  1. Let me guess what the driver will say when he gets questioned:

    >”It was sudden unintended acceleration.”

Man… 70 and driving a taxi.. a family member drives a taxi and unless you own the cab, you work in 24hr shifts… it’s nuts.

  3. Late 70s… I know we have a elderly income problem, but maybe driving should not be one of the solutions

So I will preface this by saying that I find taxi drivers in every country to be between mediocre and bad. Accidents are a constant risk but defensive driving is apparently an alien concept to all of them.

But… Korean taxi drivers are truly *atrocious*, and it’s rare for me to feel safe with the way most of them drive. Going too fast and close around hazards, constantly taking their eyes off the road, riding the bumper of the car in front, flicking the indicator half a second before merging in front of someone. I’m honestly impressed they can drive like that day after day and not end up in an accident sooner rather than later.

On the other hand they can normally thread their taxis through remarkably tiny gaps.

It’s honestly surprising this doesn’t happen more often given the typical age of taxi drivers and their driving standards.
