DO returned from the JNA to Croatia in February 1992. He started training and pursued a career as a professional athlete in martial arts. Already in 1993, he became the European champion in kickboxing. He went to the Netherlands, and several world championship titles followed. Parallel to his success in beating men in the ring, he entered the world of trafficking women for sexual exploitation. It was a “night life, a life of prostitution, fornication, gambling, selling slaves, the most women from Ukraine who were prostitutes, a horror, hell on earth”, he enumerated and added that he also worked in clubs where there was also an “LGBT community”. “I was an athlete in that world, handsome and able to achieve the goals in life that I considered very important. I was far from God, in mortal sins, especially in the demon of fornication, alcohol, night life, lies and everything that this world carries. I worked in brothels, in bars where women sell their bodies for money. I was loved there, even on one occasion I was able to have my girlfriends who brought me money,” he said.

He returned to Croatia, where he used his martial arts skills to work as a security guard in Split night clubs. The columns of the black chronicles record that at the beginning of the 2000s, as the head of the security guard of the then night club, the soccer player Igor Štimac was detained on suspicion of participating in the beating of a cafe owner. At the press conference, DO denied the whole event, especially the claims of the alleged victim that she received 50 blows. He told the journalists to line up and he would prove to them that just one blow is enough to incapacitate them. Around the same time, he was detained with the manager of the club, the brother of Igor Štimac, on the charge of chasing a man who collapsed after several blows with a bat and accidentally blew up a bomb not far from the club, which he denied. Only in 2013 was he legally acquitted of the charges. According to the court’s assessment, the State Attorney’s Office drew up a bad indictment.

DO started opening its strip clubs in the early 2000s. On several occasions, he ended up in the newspapers, trying to explain that he did not rip off foreign clients for tens of thousands of kuna, but that these are simply the prices. “I was under the influence of who knows how many demons, earning up to five million kuna a year. Alcohol, cocaine, money falling from the sky, Sodom and Gomorrah. What you see in movies is nothing that happens in clubs,” he testified. But then fifteen years ago, a turning point happened in his life. He had felt the presence of the unholy in his body before, but his friends mocked him when he confessed to them, so he decided to ignore everything. Now that was no longer possible. He cheated on his wife and everything led to a terrible event. “He whipped me in the room with a forked tongue, I got burns on my body,” he said, describing how Satan or one of his helpers left his scars. “I prayed, knelt and wailed”, he said recently at the end of the description of his congested promiscuous life, at the altar of the parish of St. Joseph in Dugi Rat, after which he informed the faithful present that at that moment he closed the strip club and opened an ordinary discotheque.

Then he closed the disco and opened his soul to God. Last year, a new life devoted to faith led him to the Warriors of Mary, the Croatian branch of the far-right male prayer community under the administration of the Catholic Church in Poland, who pray the rosary in a kneeling position on the Split Peristyle every first Saturday of the month. Along with the attack on the LGBT community, one of the main wishes of this organization is the prohibition of abortion and the Catholic supervision of women’s bodies.

A man who, by his own admission, was part of a world where women sell their bodies is now an outspoken part of a movement that attacks women’s reproductive rights by chanting the rosary in the open. The converted bully, adulterer and dealer in women’s flesh now utters prayers in front of the lenses of his mobile phone, which strive for a different control of women in society.
