Who are the geniuses that decided to travel there against all government advisories?

  2. Credit to Venezuela for not launching them in a dingy and blowing them up without due process.

    >The circumstances of the individual cases vary, and some could have been involved in drug smuggling, the official said. US officials are still collecting information about what the Americans were doing in Venezuela and at the time of their detention, the official added.

I’m pretty sure there’s some CIA “tourists” or expat in Venuzuella too. Trump opened the door to have them arrested and questioned.

    Also it’s important to remember Trump’s 2020 failed coup…

    >American “mercenaries” had “admitted their responsibility for the facts”.

    Trump denied, obviously…

EDIT: The MAGA downvotes are funny

  4. Travel to Venezuela during these times?!? As an American, they can keep em all. Idiotic lol

Even though it’s a bad decision to go Venezuela at this tense time, nobody should ever be arrested on spurious charges.

    *over the last several months

Why do people keep wording it like it’s 1979 Iran?

  10. So they may have been involved in drug smuggling? Remind us again why Trump wants to go to war with Venezuela…

Probably the worst thing you can do, give pretext for more operations in Venezuela.

why does this article get through when I tried to post about Mali and Burkina Faso banning US citizens it got flagged as “US internal politics”?

  13. Oh great, now MAGA can start going off on how Venezuela’s kidnapping citizens so strikes are justified.

    >as the US has built a pressure campaign against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro

It sounds like USA has declared war more than a “pressure campaign”

sinking boats, killing people, stealing ships.

These are not the acts of a civilized nation without a declaration of war.

Just a thought, maybe we can release the legendary warlord for their return? We did it with that basketball player and it turned out great!

  17. I am curious: Does anyone happen to know where in Venezuela these American citizens were? My reason for asking is that most people don’t know that the A.B.C. islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao) are actually part of Venezuela and some, I think, are still going down there to party and scuba.
