The southern comrades stayed away from the protests in Iran. The main reason is that the main alternative is the Israeli-backed (we can say fascist) Shah regime. We have seen in history that this regime is not very fond of our ethnicity, to put it mildly, and such ultra-nationalist regimes are a "head" it needs ethnicity, apparently it is us. In addition to the southerners, it is very likely that this will have a strong impact on our situation as well, it seems that Iran will be more oppressive towards the ethnic Azeris and more irredentist towards our republic. This Iran’s ties with the state of Israel can dissolve our government’s ties with Israel, I am not sure if there is an option of an armed conflict with Iran. At best, it seems that we will be pushed into worse relations with one of our neighbors and take refuge in the Turkish state. Relations with the Mullah regime were also on and off, but the language was found in between, the shah’s regime could be worse. Even if there is a civil war option, it seems to me that the southerners in Iran will stand by the mullah’s regime, there is no activity for the national state, and in both cases, the reaction of the Azerbaijani state is very interesting. I don’t care if the conversation turns around and leads to the death of Azerbaijani soldiers in Iran.

Nothing ever happens, or I don’t care what the states do. The opinions of the southern friends are also interesting, but the reason why I opened the post here is to discuss what the republic may face in the event of a possible change in the Iranian status quo.

This claim is absurd. If the theocratic republic collapses, regardless of who succeeds, the voice of each ethnic group in the new regime will largely depend on their contribution. If Azerbaijanis fail to participate in the revolution, it only proves that the so-called South Azerbaijani movement is largely pure political propaganda. The Azerbaijani voice in Iran will be severely weakened.
