Hello all,
I wanted to lift up the curtain like usual and it snapped suddenly. I dunno if I should report this to my landlord. Communication between us doesn’t always go smoothly so I want to avoid any kind of conflict by fixing this on my own but I wonder if it’s possible and how much it would cost ?

Most likely one of the strings got pulled more than the other one. First check to see if they’re the same length or if there’s slack in one of them. If so there might be knot somewhere or that it caught on something.
From The pictures it doesn’t Look like it snapped. Just got pulled unevenly. Fiddle with the strings a little to find which one is the stuck one and then push and pull it little by little to see if it gets unstuck
You can buy replacement strings from places like puuilo and just open the window and remove the broken string and replace it with a new one. Just did this last year, not that difficult. Looks like a prima facie DIY case – but not everyone is a DIYer. Ask around your friends if anyone had similar problem, invite them around for a pullakahvi to see if any of them high with high visuospatial abilities can figure it out where the problem lies (language nerds often come a cropper with these). Usually the KNOTTY problems with blinds just need careful patient detective work to identify the issue.
https://youtu.be/jliShPBr32I?si=ALjlg13cJtolx_iJ this shows you how the whole thing works. You can easily disasseble and fix. It is in finnish, but just watching will help. In the video goal is to change part that goes through the window frame.
