The General Directorate of Traffic has quietly retracted its previous position. There will be no fine for using traditional warning triangles as long as they are used in conjunction with a V16 beacon. This comes after criticism from road safety experts who pointed out the limited visibility of the V16 devices in rain, fog, curves and heavy traffic. What this means in practice: Triangles are still legal. The V16 is a complement, not a complete replacement. Drivers must carry both in the vehicle. The regulations initially leaned towards exclusive use of the V16, but safety concerns forced a correction. In reality, this looks like a transition to a hybrid security model rather than full digitalization. Question to the community: Do you rely only on the V16 or are the classic triangles still safer in real breakdown situations?
