Greek court blocks deportation of two Kurds sought by Turkey

Last fall, the Supreme Court had suspended two demands from Turkey for the deportation of two Kurds, aged for 44 and 31, accused of common law crimes, but both of whom had actually been sentenced for “terrorist activity.”

In their application for deportation, submitted through Interpol, Turkish authorities had not mentioned the “terrorist activity” sentences.

The Supreme Court had given Turkish authorities 60 days to submit additional documents but, in one case, the deadline passed without response.
