I captured the first full moon of the year as a supermoon over Paris https://i.redd.it/46nc3jbewcbg1.jpeg
tinmar_g on January 4, 2026 4:08 pm A few days ago, I noticed on my planning app that the first full moon of the year would align with the Eiffel Tower and the Sacré-CÅ“ur Basilica from a spot I had previously scouted. If you’re interested, you can find more of my work on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/tinmar_g/) Despite the cold and the snow in the morning, the weather forecast for Paris was cloudless, so I decided to give it a try. This image was taken with a 150–600mm lens at 500mm. The Eiffel Tower was 6.3 km away from my position, and the Sacré-CÅ“ur Basilica 11.1 km away, which explains why the Moon appears so large in the frame. — 📷 Canon 6D Samyang 150-600mm Settings : F8 – ISO 100 – 1/60s
farox on January 4, 2026 4:40 pm Well done. I really would like to do a shot like this here in Montreal. But it’s really not that easy to line everything up. Very cool shot!
galvanicreaction on January 4, 2026 5:10 pm Sigh! This is really lovely! It almost looks fake, but I choose to believe it’s not. This would make a centerpiece poster. Thank you for posting this.
Subtle_Shiver on January 4, 2026 6:09 pm Great shots and exposure. As a supermoon too? Looks great love the colour of it at its highest Fortunate the weather cooperated too!
Parzival_2k7 on January 4, 2026 6:30 pm Can you please share a hi res version of this? This would be a gorgeous wallpaper
iauu on January 4, 2026 6:31 pm Why does the moon look like it’s vertically squashed? Honest question, just never noticed this before in these kinds of pics.
