There’s ~~two~~ four serious consequences, one of which was captured in the article.
1. Vaccine and general health disinformation from US government sites will confuse some Canadians, especially given shared news sources. (noted in article).
2. The ongoing loss of access to leading edge trials, scientists and information as Kennedy guts the CDC. That will have a much larger long term impact.
3. Less and/or inaccurate epidemiology information from the US. No way we can replace or duplicate it.
4. No longer able to piggyback off of US food/drug approval work.

Perhaps the Minister would like to explain why she wants to rubberstamp decisions by the US FDA that she says she can’t trust:
This is an unintended consequence of how the Covid vaccine was pushed at a time when people were generally in a state of panic. The insistence that it prevented transmission as a way to try and increase its uptake, which was not true and was very easily proven to be untrue, has now led some people to question other longstanding vaccines that are critical to maintaining herd immunity.
The lesson here should be how important transparency is in a time of crisis. Allowing covid to be politicized has opened the door for the politicization of all vaccines and society will suffer significant consequences because of it.

The wealth and openness of the USA made it the centre for the collegial sharing of dependable health information. The censoring of that data has been occurring all last year. This story is a bit old to be news.

You can still trust information from major clinics (MGH, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic). They have great websites with well-vetted information for the general public, so if you’re googling something health related that’s your top tier, along with Canadian hospitals and the British NHS.
