The conflict between Romania and PAS-Maia Sandu (2019)

I don’t know if you still remember, but in 2019, when the ACUM-PSRM alliance was formed, it was formed under the auspices of the USA, the EU and Russia. Romania did not participate in the formation of this new majority.

What’s more: Romania supported the PDM government of Pavel Filip and Vlad Plahotniuc and the idea of ​​early elections. For Romania, the alliance with PSRM, which hates everything Romanian, was a big disappointment vis-à-vis ACUM (DA and PAS Platform). Romania did not recognize the Sandu government for several days, being the last European country to do so. Do you think that PAS and Maia Sandu have forgotten this? Let’s be serious. The good deeds you do are forgotten, the bad deeds are not.

Was the Sandu-Dodon government pro-European? Yes, as PAS controlled foreign policy, through Nicu Popescu, who controlled the foreign ministry, and about whom I made numerous posts here about his contempt for Romania, but also being a convinced pro-European. Although he was pro-European, relations with Romania were cold. So cold that the Sandu government organized the 75th anniversary of the LIBERATION OF MOLDOVA FROM ROMANIAN OCCUPATION, #A_75-a_anniversary) attended by the Russian Minister of Defense Serghei Soigu.

My opinion is that, after Moldova joins the EU, the Moldovan political elite can distance themselves, definitively this time, from Romania. Romania is only a necessary tool for joining the EU – after its achievement, dasvidania. Basically, I said here that the biggest enemy of Moldova’s independence is not Russia, but Romania – because, if Moldova becomes a Romanian state, its state legitimacy disappears. So, after joining the EU, relations with Romania will not be non-existent, but strictly protocol, as they are with Hungary or the Czech Republic, for example. After the accession to the EU, Moldovan politicians can give up the ca spells "brothers from across the Prut", "the privileged relationship with Romania" and other such spells.

“One of the pillars of Moldovan statehood is Russian culture. We understand this, but they also understand it very well in Bucharest. There, more than anyone else, they want to banish the Russian language from Chisinau. The Romanians did not manage to do this in the 1920s, 1930s or 1940s, and I hope they will not be able to do it now” – quote FROM Vladislav Grosul, Russian academician of Moldovan origin and ideologue of Moldovanism.

This will be Moldova after joining the EU – pro-Brussels, pro-Washington, but relations with Bucharest will be strictly protocol. Because independent Moldova cannot be legitimized by the Romanian past, but by any difference from Romania it can find – especially of Russian origin. Do you want proof? Simple: at the Great European Assembly of PMAN organized by Maia Sandu, the word "Romania" it was not pronounced.

And, obviously, after Moldova joins the EU, no one will take Romanian citizenship, because it will no longer be needed. It’s not like many people take it out of patriotism.
