    Damn. That’s tough. Glad he lived a long successful life after that.

    Was very involved in the diplomatic relations between UCD and Slogan Bratislava for their Europa League games in 2014 and attended both games at the age of 96!

  4. Fascinating guy and lived a very full life, bouncing back having experienced some of the roughest times in modern history. RIP and condolences to his family and friends. Hopefully someone writes his life story – he’d a really remarkable 107 years!

    80s. There was a Galway Radio congratulations song played for an east Galway lady who was “111”.
    DJ came on after to apologize as he read postcard incorrectly.
    She was “ill”.
