I know this is nerd shit or whatever but I have been playing around wt a world building project that starts wt an apocalyptic world war after the leader of a Latin American country is killed by the American government. After several hundred years America looks like this minus Colombia, Venezuela, and Guyana. They even siezed Greenland from their former European allies, destroying NATO (TATO in this) on a whim. The entire idea of this backstory is that it’s the worst scenario possible for a third world war, and that societal collapse doesn’t even end things; things just stagger forward and continue to get worse. I’ve never felt more like Nostradamus.

Trying to United Alaska and Canada with Panama and Venezuela would be a hard task with regional differences and the language.
But if this was done like we did with manifest destiny we would be the worlds UBER super power.
