Post-Covid, NYC car collisions reported have seen a large decline, while deaths have remained consistent.

    Interesting data. Trying to wrap my mind around why collisions reported would change so much, especially since it did not rebound at all 1-2 years after covid. I guess more people working remotely? But were there any law or policy changes too?

    That’s nuts. So NYPD told people to stop reporting minor collisions during COVID and apparently that behavior is still in place. Meanwhile the major collisions are still reported that involve injury or death so the deaths are constant.

  4. In all the TV shows and movies, when someone murders someone with a car, they hide the car and never report the collision. Maybe the car murder rate has gone up? /sarcasm
