  1. An administration that doesn’t follow the rule of law. And administration of lies, deceit, witch-hunt and outright criminality. I can’t wait for this to end and for Trump and them all to be thrown in jail

  2. Rubio seemed hypnotically locked in trump mode, talking about Biden, deals, and how we’re suckered. Not to mention he’d correct himself from saying “my” to “Donald Trump”

He also kept trailing off thoughts like he’s above needing to be coherent, and flexing that “moral superiority” they seem to keep squeezing out

  3. 36 years prior (to the day) George H W Bush did the same thing in Panama to capture Noriega. He too did not ask for Congressional approval.

If Congress wanted to curb these powers they had nearly four decades to do so and did not.

So although Rubio certainly should be pressed on why they did not ask for congressional approval today, some of the blame needs to fall on Congress.

  4. *“was not an action that required congressional approval” because it was “not an extended military operation.”
“This is a very precise operation that involved a couple of hours of action,” he said.*

So, on that logic ANY country is fair game to invade and abduct the leader regardless of any international law. Does that logic also mean we in Europe can move on Trump then?

He was also on meet the press having a tantrum and throwing up smoke screens. He is such a terrible interview.

  6. Make no mistake about it: All of Congress could have approved this and it would STILL be WRONG. Congressional approval is not the reason this is bad

Everything he describes as the material conditions for invading Venezuela are also true of the USA. If I am wrong, do tell your experiences of being enriched by the mineral wealth of the USA. I know there is a very small stipend in Alaska… but the rest of it?

  8. Simple, Trump doesn’t give a shit about Congressional Approval because he thinks he is a dictator, and he isn’t wrong because he seems to always suffer zero consequences when he does shit like this

  9. If we go to war with Venezuela due to this administration, how unpopular would this war be? What is your guess on how strong the backlash would be and would that affect anything?

Y’all are conceding to right wing framing.we shouldn’t do this WITH congressional backing

Do we got video of him giving this interview? Was he all coked out like he was last week in that last interview, he done.He was so coked out of his mind.It was unbelievable.Half of this administration is either a bunch of alcoholics or coke heads

  12. The press in the US is still so unbelievably spineless even in the face of people brazenly lying to their face, for all the flaws of the European press they will actually keep pushing someone for an answer if they try to worm their way out.

  13. They literally control Congress and still didn’t even bother. Congress under trump has abdicated all of its power to the dear leader

  14. Did she ‘press him’ or did she ask a couple questions and let him ramble about whatever he liked?
The article uses the term ‘grilled him’ as if this wasn’t just more soft journalism we have grown to expect in the US.
