According to operational data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, as of January 1, grain and grain legumes in Ukraine were harvested from 11.01 million ha (95% of the planned area), with total production of 57.913 million tons of grain at an average yield of 52.6 c/ha.
As noted, harvesting of late grain crops is still ongoing, with the following progress:
- corn – 27.773 million tons from 3.848 million ha (89%) at a yield of 71.3 c/ha;
- buckwheat – 82.7 thousand tons from 59.4 thousand ha (97%) at a yield of 13.9 c/ha;
- millet – 62.1 thousand tons from 35.8 thousand ha (88%) at a yield of 17.4 c/ha.
As for oilseeds, as of January 1 the following volumes were harvested:
- sunflower – 9.23 million tons from 4.838 million ha (93%) at a yield of 19.1 c/ha;
- soybeans – 4.853 million tons from 2.029 million ha (99%) at a yield of 23.7 c/ha.
Harvesting sugar beets has also been completed, with crops lifted from 199.000 ha, or 100% of the planned area. Total production amounted to 11.02 million tons, with an average yield of 553.6 c/ha.
