  1. Closer alignment sounds pragmatic, especially given how interconnected the UK and EU still are.

  2. AKA we should never have left the EU but I can’t really put the genie back in

    Fuck Boris

  3. I guess the USA-UK “special relationship” isn’t so special anymore, huh? That’s what you get for aligning yourself with an empire which is always one bad election away from kidnapping presidents of foreign countries.

  4. Anybody against this is outing themselves either as compromised or an utter buffoon I’m afraid.

UK-er here. My message to Starmer is do it, expect some sacrifices but try not to just bend over to every demand – a deal like this is supposed to be a compromise!

Incoming French “we want fishing rights on your marine-protected sea waters” demand…

Closer alignment without customs union has deprecating returns at a certain point but it’s better than the last lot or the probable next lot.

The Heritage Foundation has said in internal documents that they intend for Britain to be the “beachhead” of Europe’s “racial liberation”

They’re going to hurt many many people before this is all over, if it ever ends

Closer relations with Europe was always in our national interest and Starmer knows that very well. He is trying to inch us back into the European family without pissing off Trump or the Brexit morons in our own country too much. He is running out of time. Mind you if Trump invades Greenland there will really be no other alternative.

  9. Ok? A couple of months ago it was some fake ass “deal” with the USA that was in the national interest and all UK got from it was tariffs and aggressive demands that UK stores stock up on the trashiest shit from the USA and intentionally hide the products’ origin.

Just rejoin the EU. I think a lot of people know now BREXIT is a shambles. And with Trump and Putin we are best off being close knit than ever. But it requires you Sir Keir to make a decision and not U turn at the first sign of criticism. Which up to now I think you are incapable of.

I don’t give a fuck about pride and neither should anyone in either Britain or the EU. It is time to move on from Brexit and work closer together. Europe needs to be close allies to weather the storms that are coming.

  12. Single Market like Switzerland and Norway is where I think we’ll end up in a few years.

The Swiss spent 10 years outside before signing Bilaterals 1 and 2.

Have the balls, stand up to brexiters and do what we need for a decent future.

The world’s getting smaller and we cant do much on our own

  14. The comments are looking too much into this, the question was about a customs union which he rules out but said aligning on some things like good made sense.

  15. Please, leaders and peoples of different countries of Europe, make us more unified again. Now is the time and we all know this.

  16. We need to come together and have each others backs. We have Trump on one side, Putin on the other, massive immigration challenges, social media being used a poisonous propaganda tool against the governments in most European countries, struggling economies.

We need to project strong diplomatic, economic and military power and no single country can do it alone.

We also need to fuck Hungary out of the EU if they don’t get rid of Orban, and get much tougher of these anti-democratic creeps.

  17. Sure but I doubt that the UK will take any stance against the US when it comes to defense or diplomacy. But as long as this is clear, we can talk.

Considering Brexit was the result of a Chinese and Russian psyop, i’d say this is heading in in a better direction. Now to shut down GB news.
