Egypt Vs Benin LIVE Score, AFCON 2025 Round Of 16: Yasser Ibrahim’s Header Gives Pharaohs Lead In Extra-Time

That goal from Ibrahim has really dampened Benin’s spirits. They are looking to find the gaps behind EGY defence but are getting no joy whatsoever.

What in the world was Mohamed El Shenawy doing? His clearance firstly is poor one as it lands straight to the Benin player, who then cross in the box and Jodel Dossou slides it past the net with El Shenaway’s poor save, allows Benin to score and it’s level.

Oh what a goal this is from Egypt! Marwan Attia sends EGY fans and players in raptures with a splendid strike. Mohamed Hany crosses in the box but Attia shoots it past the BEN goalie as the Pharaohs lead.

Benin have a chance at the other end with Dossou getting at the end of a great pass. However, his shot is saved by El Shenawy, and gets hurts in the process.

Marcel Dandjinou is having a brilliant game and it continues as he saves a dink from Mo Salah. The Liverpool forward thinks he has it past the BEN net but nothing going past Dandjinou tonight.

Trézéguet looks in discomfort and cannot continue. Looks like his right foot. Emam Ashour comes on as well as Zizo who replaces Ibrahim Adel.

Marcel Dandjinou has singlehandedly kept the Benin team in the game. His superb save denies Ramy Rabia from a corner despite the EGY player having an easy chance to put it past the net but Dandjinou’s long arms come to rescue.

BEN defenders have not the likes of Salah and Marmoush the time on the ball one bit. They have been tight on the Premier League stars and that’s why the EGY duo have not lit up the stage just yet.

Second Half begins as Egypt look to grab a goal against a defiant Benin side.

Mohamed Hamdy seems to have suffered the worst from a high boot to Aloko. Egypt bench are preparing a change and there’s a huge delay we are having with the medical staff treating the injured player. Ahmed Fatouh comes on.

EGY attackers get in the BEN half with the latter panicking and despite the likes of Salah and Trezequet having a go at the Benin goal, nothing happens and the Mambas get out of danger.

Benin know they will have chances few and far between and find one via a long throw with Olaïtan to deliver from the left. It’s flicked on inside the area before Egypt clear.

Dandjinou is in the action once again and is the busiest of keepers from either sides. Mohamed Hamdy is the latest to be denied by the Benin GK but the Egyptian is flagged off.

What a great ball from Mo Salah as he releases the Man City attacker Marmoush who is one-on-one against Marcel Dandjinou but the latter does well and collects the ball easily.

Mo Salah gets the loudest cheer as soon as he picks up the ball and twists and turn the Benin player around him. The Liverpool forward will be keen to score tonight.
