Road maintenance crews today performed snow prevention and slipperiness control works. Interventions occurred on road sectors in Falesti, Hancesti, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Comrat, Cainari, and Criuleni.

According to the National Roads Administration (NRA), territorial units continuously patrolled and monitored national roads in the north, center and south of Moldova, intervening proactively on sections where the pavement posed a risk of ice formation.

In the process, 154 special vehicles and 121 road workers were deployed, utilizing over 890 tons of technical salt and approximately 107 tons of anti-skid materials.

Meteorologists have issued a Yellow Code for complicated weather conditions, valid from January 4, 10:00 to January 5, 14:00, across the entire country. On this period, widespread ice, sleet deposits and ice formations on roads are expected.

In the context, the NRA advises traffic participants to exercise increased caution and adjust speed to weather conditions. Road workers are in the field 24/7 to intervene promptly and provide support to traffic participants.

In case of difficulties, drivers can call the following phone numbers: (+373) 78 337 744 and (+373) 60 477 117.
