I think the actions of the USA over the past year demonstrate that Greenland is under real threat. Attacks on Venezuela, Nigeria, Iran and other states demonstrate that this American administration thinks nothing of the use of military power to advance its foreign policy aims.
It is very clear that effectively conquering Greenland is a foreign policy objective of the USA, they want it for whatever crazy reasons Turmp wants to state, it matters not, what matters is that they want it and they can take it.
Venezuela is setting the stage, Trump is a believer in super sovereignty, he sees the world decided between geographical powers. The attack against Venezuela is a message that says “we can do this because we can and nobody can do a think about it because we are the super sovereign of the America’s”. So yeah if they want Canada or Greenland, they take it because who is going to do anything about it.
Really think about it….
If he takes Greenland by force what’s Europe going to do about it other than cry and moan about it. Really the best case for Trump is that we just through our toys out of the pram and rip up NATO. We can’t send European militaries to fight over Greenland, soon as we do NATO is over, Russia would open up a second front and try to retake the Balkans.
