Ukraine, Moldova join EU roam-like-home area from 01 January
The EU’s ‘roam like at home’ area expanded to 32 countries from the start of 2026, with the addition of Ukraine and Moldova to the service. People from Ukraine have benefited from the system on a temporary basis since the start of the war in Russia, and the free roaming is now permanent, for both Ukrainians in the EU and EU residents travelling to Ukraine. The same applies for Moldova, where people now pay the same voice, data and SMS charges when travelling in Europe as they do at home.Â
