Been a Labor supporter my whole life, but I’ll never vote state Labor while this Liberal in disguise is in power.

We have to remember Australia doesn’t have a bill of rights. Not saying this is right but we shouldn’t be surprised either.

It’s honestly been nice having a break from all these damn protests – another two weeks free from them works for me

Alright guys who to vote for the next state election .
Any good candidates?

So.. What do you do when you hate the current government, hate the alternative even more, and you are already putting both of them last?

We need chairman Dan

Nah this isn’t on. Go protest. Protests are a necessity in any democracy. Minns is not a proper representation of labour and is more liberal than most of the liberals. I cannot wait until he is gone, I’m surprised there hasn’t been protests against him.

Who could have predicted that?

Let’s just make it another 12 months.

Is there a limit to how many times the police commissioner can extend these restrictions for?

I promise I’m asking this in good faith, but can someone please articulate why this is such a problem? Instinctively it feels wrong, part of democracy should be the right to protest, but I don’t know much about it and would really appreciate someone breaking it down

Good. Honestly, let shit settle down and establish some ground rules – and laws around hate speech – before allowing any more protests or potential platforms for hatred and division.
Protests don’t make a god damn lick of difference anyway. I support people’s right to protest, but realistically you’re making fuck-all impact vs donating time, or working in a career that can bring about real change. Yelling on the street is a crappy way to actually share ideas or promote strategies that could improve anyone’s situation, and just generates division and opposing sides.
Edit: the downvotes and name calling, rather than any discussion, is truly poetic.

Basically this means no Form 1s will be approved.
> Lanyon continues that public assemblies, “when held peacefully” are still allowed but no form 1s will be approved, meaning when someone “obstructs pedestrians or traffic, behaves in a way that is intimidating or harassing, or behaves in a manner that is likely to cause fear” they may be provided with a move on direction and face an offence if they don’t comply.

I’m guessing we get another 2 week extension so that invasion day events are off the table too. Minns is the Skynews Premier fr.

Let’s make 26/1 the biggest one yet.

This blanket ban on protests – is this even constitutional?? Genuine question. When does the Supreme Court step in?

Just protest outside Sydney.

Is it really even a protest if it’s state-sanctioned?

I totally can’t see a benefit for having the right to free speech. 🙄
So this is the result of a “good” leader. What exactly do you think happens when we get a bad one in charge?
Australians need to have some kind of proper, enshrined rights already dammit

And 2 weeks more later
And then another 2 weeks.
Minns is a joke
Thanks Minns,
