    besides I’d much rather life in vietnam than Mexico, isn’t a safe society for even the poorest not an super important factor for human development?

  2. What’s the point, this list isn’t even an accurate list in terms of HDI.

    The current rankings are:

    1) Iceland
    2) Norway
    3) Switzerland
    4) Denmark
    5) Germany
    6) Sweden
    7) Australia
    8) Netherlands
    9) Hong Kong
    10) Belgium
    11) Ireland

    For example, in this post, the UK is 5th, in the actual rankings they are 13th. Lumping the “biggest economies” together to view HDI is a bit like grouping chefs to view their hair colours, surely the grouping would be better when looking at their economies rather than HDI.
