A significant impact on economic relations between the US and the EU including cancellation of current and future contracts to US companies for starters. Cancel F-35 contracts! Small batches of French/German/Italian/whatever to “help” the Danes keep Greenland “secure” (as Trump says it is not secure enough). Send missiles and military equipment, not too much, just enough.
This has the advantage of:
– replying to trump’s suggestion that greenland is not secured by real, irrefutable (legitimate) action
– put troops of all origins on land in a peaceful manner. If Trump is foolish enough to attack, then the entire Europe has reason to retaliate and escalate. Nato or not.
