Croatia’s Interior Minister, Davor Bozinovic, has reacted after Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic accused his country a day earlier of leading a military alliance with Kosovo and Albania against Serbia.

As they remember Croatian mediaOn Monday, Vučić accused Croatia of working together with Kosovo and Albania “for its destruction and that this represents a military threat.”

Vučić said it should be clear to everyone that this “is not an alliance against Austria”, so he “has an obligation to explain this to the Serbs”.

“In Belgrade, we understand very well the new military alliance created between Zagreb, Pristina and Tirana. It was not created against anyone else, but against the Serbian people,” Vučić claimed, announcing the “strengthening of Serbia’s military capabilities.”

And responding to a journalist’s question regarding Vučić’s statements, the Croatian vice president called for peace and cooperation in the neighborhood.

“Croatia has its own path, that path is clear. Croatia is a member of the European Union and everything it does in international relations – it does it transparently. As for relations in this region and in the neighborhood, on this day I can only tell you that, although we celebrate Christmas according to different calendars, I think that the messages of peace and cooperation are something we should have in common,” Božinović said after participating in the traditional ceremonial reception organized by the Serbian National Council (SNV) on the occasion of the celebration of Orthodox Christmas.

As Croatian media point out, the defense ministers of Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo signed a declaration on strengthening defense cooperation in March last year.

The declaration, which is also open to other countries, emphasizes the importance of joint responses to security challenges, hybrid threats, and other risks that could jeopardize regional stability.

The document promotes defense capabilities and cooperation between defense industries, strengthening interoperability through education, training and exercises, countering hybrid threats and fully supporting Euro-Atlantic integration, Croatia’s Defense Ministry said at the time. /Telegraph/
