OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Next Monday, hunters can start purchasing spring turkey permits for the 2026 season in Nebraska.
Head over to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission anytime after 1 p.m. on Jan. 12 for a permit. Permits can also be purchased online, a release states.
Here is what it will cost:
- $34 for a resident permit
- $158 for a nonresident permit
- $18.50 for a landowner permit for residents
- $80.50 for a landowner permit for nonresidents
- $8.50 for a youth permit
All harvests are required to be reported via Telecheck at the Game and Parks’ website or at 844-279-4564. According to the release, you can only harvest one turkey per calendar day during the spring season.
There are only 10,000 permits available for nonresidents. Officials say these permits have sold out quickly in past years.
Resident permits are unlimited and can be purchased through the end of the season. Both residents and nonresidents can have two permits.
“The spring archery season opens March 25, youth shotgun April 11, and the regular shotgun April 18. All spring turkey seasons close May 31,” a release reads.
