SPAR Austria has opened a modern, sustainably designed EUROSPAR store in Schwadorf, Lower Austria, located at the B10 main road. The 1,240m² store offers about 18,000 products, with spacious aisles and 73 extra-wide parking spaces for a comfortable shopping experience.
The new store employs more than 30 team members. It is led by a female management team, with Adela Kurbegovic as Store Manager and Vanessa Nirschi as Deputy Store Manager.
Focus on fresh food
Customers will find a wide range of everyday products, delicacies, and treats, with freshness as the top priority. For quick snacks, the store offers the usual EUROSPAR supermarket delicatessen selection plus freshly prepared “hot to go” dishes.
Sustainability at the heart of the design
The store was constructed with sustainability in mind. Parking areas are shaded by trees and carports, and roofs are equipped with photovoltaic panels that complement the green roof. Heating is provided through heat recovery and an air heat pump, using heat from cooling units. The store connects to the local cycle path for easy bike access, and electric car drivers can conveniently recharge while shopping.
“We invest in modern local supply with a clear focus on customers, sustainable structures, and innovative solutions. For new builds and renovations, we work with regional professionals, contributing to local value creation,” said Alois Huber, SPAR Austria Managing Director for Vienna, Lower Austria, and Northern Burgenland.

About SPAR Austria
The origins of the SPAR brand in Austria date back to 1954. The current SPAR AG was created in 1970 when the original founding families joined other regional wholesalers to form SPAR Austria AG, a 100% privately owned Austrian company. Company-owned stores operate throughout the country in the multi-format retail strategy developed since the 1960’s, whilst independent retailers operate under sub-license from SPAR Austria and continue building the brand’s presence.
