President Lee Jae Myung is scheduled to visit the site of Korea’s Provisional Government in Shanghai on Wednesday.

The visit marks President Lee’s final official engagement of his four-day state trip to China.

The president plans to pay tribute to the sacrifice and dedication of Korea’s independence activists, as this year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of independence activist Kim Koo and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the provisional government during Japan’s colonial rule.

Prior to the visit, President Lee will attend a South Korea-China venture startup summit, where he is set to meet young entrepreneurs from both countries.

With these events, Lee will conclude his state visit to China and head home.

During the visit, Lee met with China’s top leaders, including President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and National People’s Congress Standing Committee Chairman Zhao Leji, to discuss economic cooperation as well as peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, among other issues.
