The Armenia national futsal team is holding a training camp in Yerevan as part of its preparation for the UEFA Futsal EURO 2026, which will take place from January 21 to February 7 in Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia.

During the preparation period, it became known that the team led by head coach Ruben Nazaretyan (23rd in the FIFA ranking) will play friendly matches against the Lebanon national team (54th in the FIFA ranking) before departing for Kaunas ahead of EURO 2026.

The exact match dates have not yet been officially confirmed. However, the Lebanese Football Federation has announced that the Lebanon national team will arrive in Yerevan on January 15 and plans to play two friendly matches against Armenia. The games are expected to take place on January 16 and 18, with the final dates to be confirmed later.

While Lebanon will use the Yerevan camp to prepare for the AFC Futsal Asian Cup 2026, Armenia continues its preparations for its first-ever participation in the final stage of the UEFA Futsal European Championship. After the matches against Lebanon, the Armenian team will travel to Lithuania.

Earlier, Armenia head coach Ruben Nazaretyan noted that the national team would play one friendly match in January, while the second game would be played by Armenia’s youth futsal team. The country has not had a youth futsal team for many years, and potential matches against Lebanon could mark the beginning of a new stage in the development of Armenian futsal.

Following the training camp, Armenia will begin its EURO 2026 campaign. In the opening group stage match on January 22, the team will face Ukraine. Armenia will then play against the Czech Republic on January 25 and conclude the group stage on January 28 with a match against Lithuania.

It is worth recalling that earlier an international tournament was held in Yerevan, where the Armenia national team emerged victorious, defeating Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, and Moldova.
