Putin was sent by Satan himself.

I hope he takes him back as soon as possible…. open some windows in Russia maybe?

  2. this makes more sense when you get to know the most celebrated political [theorist ](https://youtu.be/sdFtqa54TuM?t=294)in Russia thought Russia was god’s own country and that russia is eternally innocent and it can do no wrong. Russia will redeemed by a great masculine leader who shall wage a war against the west.

  3. I think he’s just throwing the book at the war now. “It’s for national security”, “it’s to de-nazify Ukraine”, “it’s for protection of Russian speakers”, “It’s because Ukraine is historically Russian”, and now, “it’s a holy war”

  4. Epically and hilariously failing Holy Crusader russia memes incoming. And I can’t fking wait to see them!

Putin has been told that he can be the king of Europe. He is busy trying to get his minions into power in France, Britain and Germany to make sure it happens. If Trump invades Greenland I expect Putin will try something cute in Eastern Europe to help his pal out.

  6. Thousands of civilians killed, over six million Ukrainian refugees, entire cities reduced to rubble, thousands of children kidnapped, inhumane treatment of POWs, and an entire nation traumatized with PTSD. What a good person Putin is, truly a man of God.

  7. He uses orthodox Christianity to justify his evil imperialism.
That church is just another arm of the Kremlin now

  8. If anyone is confused about the date, the article isn’t late: Orthodox Christianity celebrates Christmas on January 7, so today.

People shit on the European leaders all the time, but at least they are not a bunch of the maniacal wackos.

Yes, it’s a pretty low bar, but here we are in2026.

11 December 1941, [so said the Bohemian Corporal:](https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/hitler-s-speech-declaring-war-against-the-united-states)

    >If the Providence has so willed that the German people cannot be spared this fight, then I can only be grateful that it entrusted me with the leadership in this historic struggle which, for the next 500 or 1,000 years, will be described as decisive, not only for the history of Germany, but for the whole of Europe and indeed the whole world. The German people and their soldiers are working and fighting today, not only for the present, but for the coming, nay the most distant, generations. A historical revision on a unique scale has been imposed on us by the Creator.

  11. My brain registered this as Trump news for half a second, got confused with Putin‘s picture and went right to „yeah, whatever, could have been either“.

That is where we are right now, happy new year 2026.

  12. I don’t believe in hell, but if it exists there must be a special place reserved for Putin.

Bush also said in his book that he went into Iraq because gog and magog were there.

Its the crazy people in power on every side sending the youth to die

  14. This is not bizarre at all. He genuinely thinks that it is his holy mission to annex Ukraine, and has never said otherwise, so those who still think they can get him to sign a peace treaty or even a ceasefire should stop losing their time, because this will not happen as long as Ukraine isn’t capable of turning the tide of the war in their favour. It’s baffling that some people are still surprised by these kinds of speeches 4 years after the start of the war.

    Edit: typos.

  15. Point me to the verse in the bible which says that invading Venezuela or Greenland is “holy”.

  16. When countries run out of explanations for their youth to fight the wars of old men they will tell them that it’s for “Honor” and for “God”.

    Reminder!

Russian Orthodox Church is the LARGEST Orthodox Church in the world. It is larger than all other Orthodox Churches combined.

So majority of Orthodoxy is fascistic.

Russian Orthodox Church of course supports Putin. Authoritarianism is written into the very being of that Church. Russian Orthodox Church at least USED to chant during the Feast of the Triumph of Orthodoxy the following:

    >To those who claim that Orthodox Emperors are not anointed by the Holy Spirit and that their rule is not God’s will and who dare to rebel and demand change – ANATHEMA

Anathema is Greek and means “let them be cursed”.

Other parts of that chant include similar condemnations towards those who deny Trinity, Hypostatic Union (that Jesus is both God and man) or those who deny the icons.

And since lex orandi lex credendi – rule of prayer is the rule of faith, meaning that how the church prays is what it believes, it means that to (at least Russian) Orthodoxy, groveling before an autocrat is just as constituent part of the faith as is Trinity or Jesus.

And since no other Orthodox Church cut communion ties to Russian Orthodox Church due to that prayer, it means that all other Orthodox Churches accepted such interpretation of the faith as valid or at least acceptable.

Used to be Orthodox. I know.

Btw… I am from Finland and I know a native Finn, a convert to Orthodoxy, who said in 2014 after Putin invaded Crimea that he hopes that Putin would “come and fee us too”.

I know another native Finn, also a convert to Orthodoxy, who said in late summer of 2022 that he hopes that Putin would “slaughter every single Ukrainian”. And that he hopes that Putin would “save us from gay and feminism”.

I know that in Orthodox seminar here in Finland there are some who are going to be priests who have said that if there would be a military conflict between Finland and Russia, they would be on the side of Russia.

He is referring to tsars of the past. Tsars proclaimed certain goals as ‘holy missions’, such as the liberation of Moscow (which caused the beginning of the Romanov dynasty). Putin calling the Russian invasion of Ukraine a ‘holy mission’ is because true Russia is still deeply Orthodox. Ukraine has been captured numerous times before by the Russians. To them, getting ‘wandering sheep’ back to the flock is a mission of ‘holy’ importance.
It fits perfectly within the current pattern of pre-twentieth century ideas making a comeback.

He’s taking too much holiness upon himself. He should watch out for it to not turn into acid and eat him alive in the end.
